Fall is definitely here! We have hard frost on the cars every day, and it snowed two days this weekend. With thoughts of winter come wonders about whether we are heating our house in a sustainable way. I think that we could do better, use more wood, less heating oil, but in general, I think that we do a fairly good job. Our house is older (almost 60 years old), but has been extensively retrofitted to make it more energy efficient. Despite its age, it got a 3 star energy rating when we had it reviewed a few years ago. We could probably use a newer furnace, and perhaps a new, more efficient hot water heater. But besides that, I think we're doing pretty good. How about you? What are your secrets for maximizing your energy efficiency during the winter?
